1. Who is eligible for applying for factory license?
A person who intends to set up a factory can apply for a factory license.
2. Where to apply for a factory license?
Either at a CSB or through the internet.
3. What documents are required for applying for a new factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for a new factory license:
  1. Proof of ownership or possession of premises
  2. NOC from DPCC & DFS
  3. Machinery list with HP rating
  4. Affidavit & Undertaking
  5. Site plan
  6. Key plan
  7. Deed of constitution
  8. Completion certificate in case the factory is to be located in new premises
4. What documents are required for renewal of a factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for renewal of a factory license:
  1.  Original License copy
  2.  Any other documents, if asked for
5. What documents are required for increase / decrease in HP rating of a factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for increase / decrease in HP rating of a factory license:
  1.  License copy
  2.  Existing and proposed equipment list along with horsepower rating
6. What documents are required for change in constitution of a factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for change in constitution of a factory license:
  1.  License copy
  2.  Constitution copy
  3.  Mutation from the concerned authority
7. What documents are required for change in trade of a factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for change in trade of a factory license:
  1.  License copy
  2.  Equipment list with horsepower rating
8. What documents are required for issue of a duplicate factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for issue of a duplicate factory license:
  1.  First Information Report (FIR)
  2.  Indemnity Bond in prescribed format
9. What documents are required for surrender of factory license?
The following documents have to be submitted for surrender of factory license:
  1.  Original License
10. What fees/charges are to be paid along with application submission ?
An amount of Rs.2,000/- for Conforming Area or Rs.1,000/- for Non-Conforming Area, as the case may be, per application will be collected as processing charges, which includes handling charges of Rs.50/- plus service charges.
11. How many days will it take to get a factory license?
It will take 20 working days from the date of payment of processing charges by the applicant for issue a factory license.
12. What is the license fee to be paid for obtaining a factory license ?
License fee at the following rates has to be paid:
For Category A : (Conforming Area / Local Commercial Area)
    @ Rs.4/- per Horsepower (or minimum of Rs.40/-whichever is higher) + Rs.80/- as trade fee
For Category B (Non-Conforming Area / Household)
    @ Rs.12/- per Horsepower (or minimum of Rs.40/-whichever is higher) + Rs.120/- as trade fee
13. What is the license fee to be paid for renewing a factory license?
License fee at the following rates has to be paid:
For Category A : (Conforming Area / Local Commercial Area)
    @ Rs.4/- per Horsepower (or minimum of Rs.40/-whichever is higher) + Rs.80/- as trade fee
For Category B : (Non-Conforming Area / Household)
    @ Rs.12/- per Horsepower (or minimum of Rs.40/-whichever is higher) + Rs.120/- as trade fee
14. What is the late fee to be paid in case of renewal of factory license?
Late fee to be paid in case of renewal of a factory license is:
If renewed between 1st March and 30th April - no late fee
If renewed after 30th April - late fee charges @ 5% p.m.
If renewed after 1 year - late fee charges of actual license fee for each year or part thereof
15. What is the fee to be paid in case change in HP rating of a factory license is requested ?
In case of increase in HP rating, the difference amount will have to be paid.
In case of decrease in HP rating, no fee will be refunded but will come into force from next year and the renewal fee will be based on updated HP rating.
16. From where should the factory license be collected?
The factory license will be issued by hand to the citizen at the CSB or couriered to the address requested by the citizen.
17. Whom to approach for changes?
Any of the CSBs may be approached.
18. How long does it take to incorporate the changes?
It will take 20 working days from the date of payment of charges for incorporating the changes.
19. Will a duplicate license be issued?
Yes. A duplicate license will be issued on payment of Rs.25/- towards processing charges and on submission of the required documents.
20. When can a duplicate license be applied for?
In case the original was lost, mutilated, destroyed, etc.
